Dive In and Show Off!

Swimsuit season is coming up quick, which, if you're like the rest of us, may fill you with a bit of dread. It is natural to feel a little bit hesitant about jumping into a swimsuit after a long, cold - did we mention long? - Iowa winter. There's a lot you have to do to get ready first, such as hair removal (ugh) and maybe getting rid of winter weight (double ugh). But, it's also natural to feel apprehensive about getting into a swimsuit for other reasons, too.

One of those reasons could be that you're uncomfortable about how you may look in swimwear. Yes, we all have body issues, but some women feel embarrassed about how a specific area looks in clingy clothes. We're talking about the genital area.

Many women across the country feel embarrassed or self-conscious about their appearance in tight clothing because their labial folds are too long or misshapen, their inner labia extends past their outer folds, or they feel their mons pubis area, the area of fatty tissue that lies over the pubic symphysis, is too big.

These concerns are very real and can make women shy away from swimming - or at least compel them to wear shorts over their bikini bottoms. These concerns can also make some women shy away from relationships and intimacy out of fear of judgment from their partners.

Options for Treatment

You don't have to sit it out in shorts or feel embarrassed for the rest of your life. You have options for treatment to make cosmetic changes to your genitals. We offer the labiaplasty procedure to give you the look you want for swimwear, tight clothing and during intimate moments.

The labiaplasty procedure helps to reshape genitals that are naturally uneven or misshapen or have been damaged from childbirth or other injuries. Excess tissue of the labia major or labia minora is removed surgically or with lasers, and at times, dermal fillers are used to fill in areas of lost volume. The result is a more uniform appearance.

Women report feeling more comfortable with their bodies and in fitted clothing like swimsuits, yoga pants, workout clothes and shorts.

Don't stay home this summer! Make a splash in your new swimsuit this beach and pool season and feel confident doing it. Call Dr. Mona Alqulali at Infinity Medical Group today to schedule your consultation.
